Janina Amanda Haupt, M. Sc.

Janina Haupt works for the department of Green Technologies in Landscape Architecture as well as the department of Planting Design.

She sees great potential in the interaction of technology and plants in the field of urban climate adaptation, especially to reduce the heat island effect. She is researching ways to use woody plants to mitigate the effects of heat islands and possibly even reverse them through targeted irrigation strategies.

During her master's thesis, she had already dealt with the water requirements of existing trees and shrubs and is now building on this in her research project.
