The conference “Dangerous Landscapes” will examine emerging approaches to disaster risk reduction in low-income communities. It views landscape not only as a source of threat but also as a potential remedy. Sidestepping traditional measures that rely on costly hard infrastructures, more integrative and aff ordable forms of risk reduction will be addressed. The conference features a range of actors involved in disaster risk management: activists, urbanists, engineers and economists.
